# Dockling

> Dockling is a native macOS app that gives you a personal pixel pet generated from your photo. The pet lives in your dock, menu bar, or inside the MacBook Pro notch. It is paired with a Pomodoro focus timer: the pet walks while you focus and curls up to sleep on your break. One-time $2.99, no subscription, no account, app data stays local.

Dockling is built and shipped by an independent developer. The desktop app is signed and notarized by Apple. Personal pixel pets are generated server-side from a user-uploaded photo via Google Gemini, then bundled as a sprite sheet of up to 9 animation scenes (3 required: idle, happy, sleep — plus 6 optional: smug, eat, shower, success, punch, fly) and downloaded to the user's machine.
