Terms of Service
These terms apply to your use of Dockling — the macOS app, the website at dockling.space, and any custom pet packs you buy or generate. By using Dockling, you agree to them. They're written in plain English and we've tried to keep them short.
Who we are
Dockling is an independent product by Sadi Saydam. The app and website are operated as a personal indie venture, not a company. For anything not covered here, email hello@dockling.app.
What you're buying
Dockling is a one-time purchase of $2.99 USD for a personal license to install and use the app on Macs you own or control. The price includes one custom pet generation performed from a photo you upload. Additional custom pet generations (regen packs) and pre-made character packs are sold separately at $0.99 each.
Purchases are not subscriptions. Payment is processed by Stripe. Once the download completes, you own the copy and the pet packs you bought or generated, and they keep working even if Dockling is no longer being updated.
Custom pets generated from your photo
When you upload a photo to generate a custom pet (in the app or on the website), we send the image to a third-party AI image generation service to render the pixel art. We don't train any model on your photos and we don't retain them beyond what's needed to render and deliver the pack. The resulting pixel art is yours to use for any personal purpose.
You promise that you have the right to upload the photo you upload — that means it's yours, you have permission from the person depicted, or it's otherwise something you're allowed to send to a third-party image processor.
Acceptable use
Don't use Dockling to generate art of recognisable people without their consent, public figures in misleading contexts, or anything sexual, violent, or harassing. Don't reverse engineer or redistribute the app. Don't resell pet packs you bought as if you made them.
Refunds
If a custom pet generation fails or the result is broken, email us and we'll re-run it or refund the $0.99 charge. App purchases are refundable within 14 days of purchase if Dockling isn't working on your Mac and we can't fix it together. Email hello@dockling.app with your Stripe receipt number.
The app, as-is
We try hard to make Dockling stable and pleasant, but it's provided as-is, without warranties. We're not liable for lost productivity, data loss, or any indirect damage caused by using it. Dockling runs locally on your Mac and stores its data there.
Changes
We may update these terms occasionally. If the change is material we'll surface it on the site or email it to recent customers. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
